More India fashionista talk
I am beginning to suspect that India may unwittingly be at fashion's "bleeding edge." Truly avant garde in its radically "outre"-ness and as yet unexploited by the fashion establishment - the sweater vest is an ever popular clothing item ripe for rediscovery. Sported by Indian males of all ages (and seemingly with little regard for the weather) the sweater vest seems to be an essential alternative for when the disco shirts are in the wash. By the sheer force of numbers and the irimminent Bollywood/Hip-hop crossover success, India may soon be leading the Paris and Milan fashion houses. Ever practical and currently so-out-they're-bound-to-be-in before you know it they may be the "striped shirt" fashion phenomena for the upcoming fall season.
So don't wait until Johnny Depp's wearing on in People magazine and the Mission thrift stores have been picked clean. Just save any good orange and maroon ones you find for me - especially if it will go well with the new beard I may be styling... :-P
